Howard Nguyen, PhD

Founder and Principal Data Scientist, MaxAIs

I am a data scientist who builds AI for places where mistakes are expensive. MaxAIs exists to give small and mid-sized businesses the same rigor that large companies and hospitals expect, without the large-company price or the jargon.

Background

Howard holds a PhD in data science and has spent his career turning messy, real-world data into systems people rely on. His work spans machine learning, deep learning, predictive analytics and the governance needed to keep models trustworthy after they launch.

He founded VitalCKM, a digital health company building clinical intelligence for cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic risk. Its live Cardio Screen and CKD Screen tools predict risk, explain the factors behind each score and let clinicians explore what-if scenarios. Building for healthcare taught Howard that accuracy alone is not enough: a model must explain itself, stay calibrated and leave a trail someone can audit.

Alongside that work, he has spent more than a decade helping Southern California businesses with websites, search marketing and analytics. That experience is why MaxAIs speaks the language of business owners: leads, schedules, margins and hours in the day.

Why MaxAIs

Small businesses are being sold AI tools faster than anyone can check whether they work. Most do not need another subscription. They need someone who can tell which problem is worth solving, build the solution properly and prove it is paying off. That is the job MaxAIs was created to do.

How I work
